FAVE BANDS: The Beatles - The Churchills - Fifth Avenue - NJ Bands Fifth Avenue!
The third band that I love is called Fifth Avenue. Their style is similar to that of the Churchills, and so obviously they can't go far wrong there! The third (and at the moment, final) band that I love is called Fifth Avenue. Their style is similar to that of the Churchills, and so obviously they can't go far wrong there! 5th Ave consists of ... 5th Ave consists of the much-loved Ryan, Gav and Blair (!!!!!) McDonough and Mike (who's not a McD, but is still much-loved coz he's a 5th boy). They are really nice guys - Ryan (Aussies say it more like "Rine" - so adorable!) is such a big sweetie, and you'll probs have already read how I feel about Blair! Anyways, if you happen to be in Melbourne or Brisbane (or really anywhere in Australia) then I'd suggest you check out their site for all the info you need about the band and gigs and whatever. Maybe you'll love them too. I discovered 5th Ave through my wonderful BC chickies, who did a very good advertising job in that they went on and on and on about them and how fantastic they were and how brilliant their song 'Freezing' was in particular and how you just happened to be able to download that song straight from BC! So, I eventually took the hint (I had to wait for my speakers to be fixed first!) and downloaded Freezing and Let Me Out (written when Blair was stuck in the Aussie Big Brother house). They were fantastic. The band is in the motions of finishing off a CD, and being the wonderful friendly guys they are, they sent Trisi a CD with 4 of the new songs on. Actually, one of them is a new version of Freezing, but still, it's new. Tris very kindly copied it onto a tape and sent it on to me so their International Fan could have a listen. It's fantastic. I suffered from a slight addiction to Indigo, the new Freezing is awesome (once I got my head round the changes) and the other two songs are great too. She also added on lots of their old songs onto the end of the tape - and they're all excellent too! These are some very talented boys (and Tash too - he used to be in the band until recently, though I understand it was all very amicable!) So, keep an eye out for these guys coz hopefully they'll be making a splash over here soon too!! (Beware of the fact that there's apparently another band with the same name going around, but they're bad pop I think... so there's definitely a difference!!)
